Cultural Awareness Workshop/Cultural Sensitivity Training

The first step in building bridges between cultures is through cultural appreciation. Our 20 years of workshop experience allows us to present these fascinating workshops to a broad range of non-First Nations participants as well as First Nations audiences and indigenous peoples from other countries. We walk our participants through the history of the First Nations people in this region, from pre-contact, to today. This includes our values, traditions, history, current state and future direction, practices and protocols. For First Nations People, this workshop is also the beginning of First Nations understanding of whom the First Nations people are and where they come from. These workshops are customized based on the audience; for example Doctor’s associations have used this workshop, so discussion will incorporate more about traditional medicines. Communications prior to the workshop are imperative to determine main focus. Workshops may be held in the Charlie family longhouse at no additional cost. If workshop is held at another location, space rental must be negotiated directly with the facility.

Cultural Awareness Workshops and Cultural Sensitivity Training are appropriate for any organization which has interaction with First Nations communities. This includes:
